It's Midsummer Eve 1914, in the tiny fishing community of St Nevin, Cornwall. The young people of the village concern themselves with the important business of falling in love, dreaming great dreams and having a good time. However, unknown to them the nightmare of The Great War looms. Who is the stranger that Jimmy Trevenna meets on the cliff-tops? Why does the Squire's son dance with Kitty Trevenna?
