Details
This year's Tate Modern collaboration uses the exhibition Dali and Film as a springboard to focus on the imaginative world of his friend and collaborator the poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca. Simon Holt's works for solo voice, cello, flute and clarinet are of a sharply Spanish character. His Lorca settings precede Lorca's Canciones Populares, a collection of folksongs the poet found and transcribed. The event ends with Berio's celebrated Folk Songs which reunites mezzo Sally Burgess with conductor Richard Bernas and producer Mike Ashman following their hugely successful Pierrot Lunaire at the Almeida in 2006.
