A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Durham archiveThe Lindisfarne Gospels are coming to the North East, and to commemorate this momentous occasion, Durham's Gala Theatre has teamed up with Visit County Durham to create this fast-paced run through the most significant moments in the last 1400 years of North East history. This irreverent comedy romp through the region's past takes in everything from the Vikings and some half-hearted pillaging, to the creation of Durham Cathedral and a rather ghostly St Cuthbert. It's a fast moving play with 390 goats, a load of monks, a big important dusty book and 3 actors playing 39 different characters. Age 14+. Running time: 1hr 30mins + interval
