The Family (Semianyki) archiveDirect from St Petersburg, the world famous Theatr Licedei, founded by Slava Polunin, (creator of Slava's Snowshow) presents their critically acclaimed production The Family. The Family is a magnificent theatrical and comical portrait of a zany, dysfunctional family. Their lives are a ceaseless power struggle between an alcoholic father ever threatening to leave, a pregnant mother ever threatening to deliver, and their gang of barmy brats threatening to clobber both parents for their failings! Poetic eccentricity, raging creativity and scathing humour are the trademarks of these artists from the world famous St Petersburg Company. Their shows are exploding spectacles, each one more devastatingly hilarious than the other. The family is a beautiful tribute to both contemporary and traditional clowns alike, imprinted with a delicious Russian sensibility... With a sublime ending in a world that collapses, a flamboyant child birth, a spluttering return of the prodigal father, the family survives the chaos and life goes on! Suitable for 8 yrs +.
