Elsie Wright can do no right. Elsie Wright will not amount to much. Elsie Wright will not make a dent on the world. That's what they tell her. That's what they say every day. But she will show them. Commissioned by Tonic Theatre as part of its Platform series, The Light Burns Blue has been written to readdress the balance of roles for young women. Grown from a nationwide research study, in which schools and youth theatres told Tonic how hard it is to find scripts that give girls meaningful roles, the Platform series intends to respond by putting girls centre stage in a series of scripts written with this in mind.
