How did Shakespeare imagine he might be remembered? Transported back to the island he created in The Tempest, Shakespeare magically journeys through past plays and characters in a desperate attempt to convince both himself and the world of his lasting legacy. It has been suggested that after writing The Tempest, seen by many as Shakespeare's triumphant farewell to the stage, he struggled with writer's block and a growing sadness in his private life. Would all his previous successes count for nothing? This new musical play is an inspiring, witty and accessible introduction to Shakespeare that will also offer fresh and intelligent perspectives for those who are familiar with the playwright. Performed by Chickenshed's company members with a cast of over 100 students, this will be a unique and large-scale production complemented with music, song and dance. Age Recommendation: 7+.
