Work:: Phoenix Dance Theatre (S876)

Phoenix Dance Company are one of the leading exponents of contemporary dance.
Company Phoenix Dance Theatre

Production:: Harmonica Breakdown/Signal/New Work (T01295914052)

Brazilian Henrique Rodovalho laces his sinuous movement with humour, emotion and an influence from capoeira martial arts. A rare revival of Jane Dudley's Harmonica Breakdown, sees a female dancer in an uplifting solo to Sonny Terry's Blues. Henri Oguike's fiery Signal, sets five dances against the pounding rhythms of Japanese taiko drums. The programme is completed with a new work from Artistic Director, Javier De Frutos, whose sensual and emotionally charged Nopalitos brought Phoenix critical acclaim in 2006. He's also known for his work with Rambert Dance Company and the hit West End musical Cabaret.
