All Daedalos ever wanted to do was make toys for small children - but when you are a blacksmith in Athens during the bronze age, life isn t always that simple. Daedalos works with steel. Using this tough metal he can make swords that are twice as long as the bronze ones the enemies use. This makes Daedalos valuable to his masters, so valuable he cannot be allowed to escape. Cruelly crippled to stop him leaving, Daelados desperately tries to find happiness in Athens. His weapons make him rich and famous but can this be enough...Bringing together story strands that have not been told together for the last two thousand years, this show brings together powerful traditional storytelling, with amazing use of new media, a soaring swooping saxophone synthesiser and wild digitally generated images projected onto a giant puppet giving a constantly changing projection surface. The Mazemaker is a blood-soaked epic filled with murders and Minotaurs - man s first flight and a king boiled alive in his bath.
