Over the last year the National have been developing a portfolio of ten plays and a brand new musical for young performers from world class writers. They make up a varied repertoire of challenging and entertaining work. There are tales of mystery, Nordic mythology, miraculous healing, personal courage and unfulfilled promises, of quests for love and trust, and journeys through horror and self-doubt to hope and resolution. Settings include Germany's Thirty Year War, a forest in Finland, the Atlantic Ocean, Italy, Texas and Nazi-occupied Norway.
