Playing for Time

Playing for Time

Work:: Playing for Time (S4609)

Based on Miller's own moving screenplay of the Fania Fenellon story starring Vanessa Redgrave, Playing for Time brings to the stage the harrowing story of a group of Jewish female musicians, imprisoned in Auschwitz. The Commandant of the Camp enjoys classical music, and forces the women to literally 'play for their lives' - as long as the orchestra please him, they avoid the gas chamber.
Author Arthur Miller
