Trying to conduct a funeral wake, Rene, the undertaker, who should be in control of his emotions, bursts out laughing. He stumbles over every word, has a fight with the microphone, and finally resorts to telling the life of the deceased man using food and objects from the funeral banquet. Bread, celery, teapots and napkins transform into a remarkable parade of characters - an anarchist, an old lady, his wife and a disfigured boy - who tell the story of a dreamer, a man who wanted nothing in a world driven by consumerism. Is this the key to happiness?
