Wedding Fever archiveWedding Fever is a comedy set in the early sixties and traces the lives of the small Belfast community in which Sadie and Alex live with their daughter, Myra, and son Davy. We meet the neighbours, the redoubtable Emily Beattie, who calls in at regular intervals to borrow 'a wee cup of sugar' or something, and her equally loveable husband, Willy. In the first scene we enjoy the proposal of marriage by the hapless Dennis Hall to Myra and in the second scene we are treated to a visit by his parents, Patrick and Mary Hall from Ballymena. Throughout this enjoyable romp down memory lane we see the return home of Sadie Galbraith's sister, Georgina, who returns home of Sadie Galbraith's sister, Georgina, who returns on a visit with her American husband, Hiram; we experience the joys and the pains of the family as they approach the 'big day'.
