Waiting for the Parade archiveSet in Calgary during World War II, five women gather to work for the war effort while their men are away. Geographically the conflict is remote but this play examines the impact on individual lives back home. The tragedy of war is a present reality but so is the women's humour and comradeship "We've lasted, we made it!" And that's the story: how the women of Canada kept the home fires burning in spite of doubt, loneliness and pain.
