Spleen!/Room/Sans Oeuf - T307722115

GoodDog theatre company are a large ensemble of Lecoq-trained performers and international theatre-makers. They present Spleen! Utilizing the hybrid potential of their various languages and cultures, alongside a shared training in highly physical storytelling, the cast present a unique response to one of Europe's greatest writers. Combining dynamic physicality, live music and the radical poetry of Charles Baudelaire, Spleen! tears open the flesh of the modern city to explore the life within. Created a Monster are a Lecoq trained female trio who make visceral, unusual theatre. With a highly physical aesthetic, original text and deeply drawn characters, we produce work that is transporting and provocative. We present Room, an unsettling and darkly humorous piece of physical storytelling, taking inspiration from surrealism, fear of the dark and The Uncanny. Room takes absurd turns in a confrontation of the existing definitions of sanity, and invites you to enter a space sometimes opaque, sometimes elastic, and always not as it seems. Sans Oeuf by Trunk and Egg. The show is an exploration into the lives of the 'trunks'. How do these creatures go about the daily routine? How do they interact with one another and other potential creatures? How do they communicate? The trunks themselves are Ikea ?STORM' lampshades, a conical form which reverses and reopens out at the narrower end. This forms a face or snout-like formation, a sensory organ of some kind which guides the creature. Whether this ?sensory organ' is an eye, an ear, a mouth, a nose or even a sexual organ depends on the situation.Presented byCreated a Monster. Company GoodDog Theatre Company (Spleen!).
