Too Much Pressure archiveCoventry. 1979. A city of strife in the factories and violence on the streets. It's hard being 16 - but something's stirring in the garages and living rooms of the city. Music offers a way out for spiky Gary - a fish out of water on the Canley Park estate - posh boy Nick and cheeky Sonya, whose Asian parents think she's doing after-school drama... Tension is building between Gary and his brother and father - both track workers at the car plant. But as industrial relations reach boiling point and Gary's band takes its first few tentative steps, an act of shocking violence propels Nick, Sonya and Gary's family towards a decision that will change all their lives forever.
