Examines the details that define our lives. The three characters are the heart of the play - the first, Dave, is a stenographer. He transcribes hearings at the speed of speech. The transcriptions are infallible, but Dave has problems. His friend Annalise is a geographer. She studies the arbitrary lines that define the world, but seeing problems doesn't make her any better at solving them. Finally there's Margaret, the typographer.
