Based on the 2000 year-old Sanskrit story of the Ramayana in which Lord Rama's beautiful bride Sita is stolen by the wicked demon Rawanna. In this version Sita, a symbol of the natural world, is held captive by Rawanna in the form of a corrupt business-man in Lanka, an urban nightmare of skyscrapers and slums. Rama's celebrated exploits en route to Sita's rescue pit him against the evils of environmental destruction and corporate greed.
