The Septic Tiger archiveA powerful dark comedy that takes an original and entertaining look at the 'Celtic Tiger' and the mayhem left in its demise. In the ashes of the economic downturn, a beautiful young woman, a psychopathic murder and a bankrupt farmer become embroiled in a tiger kidnapping held at a farm in the North-South border area. Who is behind the kidnapping? What is the victim worth? Will the Germans bail them out? Does Cormac McCarthy have the answer? The play takes a comedic look at what ordinary people will resort to when hope is lost, love betrayed and everything familiar becomes a distant memory? Although Pearse has forged an international reputation writing scripts for global stars such as Gillian Anderson and Robert Carlyle he has always remained true to his local roots and no more so than in this unmissable comedy.
