In 1869 two men from Leeswood Green Colliery were found guilty of an assault on their underground manager. By the time the verdict was announced, a huge and angry crowd had gathered outside the courthouse in Mold. Incensed by the severe sentences imposed, the mob threw stones at the police as the prisoners were led under escort to the railway station close by. Soldiers brought in from Chester were ordered to open fire on the crowd, and by the end of the day four people lay dead or dying on the streets. This new play, from the talented company who brought you Gresford, Shotton and The Empire Changes Hands, recreates these dramatic events in their own inimitable style, with a host of characters, including Daniel Owen, promising you a night of machination, manslaughter and mayhem in mid-Victorian Mold.
