Details
An uproarious and darkly moving parody on provincial life. Perceptive and compelling, the play takes an hilarious and desperate look at the fear of isolation, loneliness and rats. In a Donegal fishing village where 'every woman has a past and no man in a future' live Mary and her (supposedly) bedridden mother. Intrigue, sexual scandal, murder threats and Bride of Dracula lipstick are fife in this absorbing drama. Mary waits longingly for her mother to die - her mother resolutely refuses to do so. Grasping a final chance of love and freedom, Mary readily accepts a proposal of marriage. But as she discovers to her horror, her intended is not all he appears to be!
