Street Trilogy archiveThe plays portray the vulnerable and the violent as they lash out against the world around them. From the adrenaline-fuelled anarchy of a car theft and the ritualised violence of teenage gangs, to the new beginnings offered by a baby in the womb, life on the dirty side of the tracks is shown without compromise or sentimentality, as the characters portrayed search for the change in their lives that might allow them the space to live more easily. But how possible is change? In any walk of life? What does it mean to change your life? What pressures and tensions have to be faced, as we live alongside others? Written by Chris O Connell, performed by the multi award winning Coventry based Theatre Absolute, Street Trilogy began life in 1999 and will be completed in Spring 2005. The three plays will be performed individually, but also, and more excitingly, as a trilogy event, taking the audience through the whole narrative arc of the three plays in one whole sitting.
