Stella By Starlight archiveFirst performed in Dublin's Gate Theatre in 1966, 'Stella by Starlight' tells the story of a woman whose husband, forced into early retirement, drags his unwilling family off to live in the wilds of the Wicklow mountains. He frantically pursues his hobbies of DIY and astronomy, while she slowly vegetates with only the sheep and goats to hear her complaints. Meanwhile their teenage daughter is desperately hanging on to civilisation, and the arrival of old friends revives old memories and old rivalries too.
