Out of the blue Robert's ambitious actress wife announces she wants a divorce. Without the required grounds she doesn't have a chance, so she hires a private detective. When Robert discovers the plot he uses his experience as a stage manager to work out a bizarre way of teaching the conspirators a lesson.
