Rickman, 76, joined the army at 18, serving in South East Asia Command. He became interested in military history and uniforms which led to work on costumes and equipment for films and TV productions including 'A Man For All Seasons', 'The Charge of the Light Brigade', 'Elizabeth R' and 'Dr Who'.
