Details
The two comedy figures of Tony Hancock and Kenneth Williams still loom large in our world today. Despite all their successes, both suffered from extreme depression. Arguably, they are just as famous for the darker side of their natures, as well as their undoubted comedy legacy.
Seriously Funny attempts to explore the reasons behind this dichotomy, as well as celebrating these two unique comedy greats. Thanks to the kind permission of Ray Galton and Alan Simpson we present some of their best loved sketches, as well as explore the backstage drama. Both Williams and Hancock were obsessed with self analysis and were unjustly critical of themselves to the point of destruction. Both were fond of saying, "What if life's just a joke." Well thanks to these two men, they certainly made certain that the joke was a good one.
