Payback transports us back to the depressed days of Thatcher's Britain. It's 1982 and the containerisation of the Port of Liverpool is decimating the lives of the thousands of families who rely on the docks for their very existence. With redundancy and large pay-offs imminent, a gang of five dockworkers, Yank, Angry, Lucky, Single Bert and Apron, discuss their plans for the future in the well-worn surroundings of their habitual haunt, Harry's Cafe. Sharing their aspirations for life away from the docklands, the gang is unaware that amongst their lot is a snide, hell-bent on preventing them from realising these dreams. Laughter, anger, empathy and sorrow are just some of the emotions that you will experience in this gritty, black-comedy rollercoaster of a drama.
