Details
Three troubled Vietnam War veterans are recovering in a veterans hospital. The men's wounds are physical but maybe it's the psychological wounds that are most visible. This production touchingly provides a window into the damaged psyches of these men that is both hilarious but also deeply moving. Through the men's attempts to piece their lives together again, the play highlights the casualties of war and what it takes to make sense of our lives when they have been blown apart. The three characters, Gately, Silvio and Natwick, show us how, by trusting the nature of comradeship, we don't have to be isolated even as we fight our own personal battles. A statement about survival which speaks to our world as it is now. Their message is wise, hopeful and ultimately life-affirming.
