Details
One Last White Horse is set in Dublin in the mind of the dying Eddie a man whose mind has been infiltrated and taken over by heroin. Guided and taunted by the White Horse, his mind wanders through flashbacks of the events in his life which have led him to his nemesis. His is haunted by the death of his mother and the guilty inadequacy of being an unemployed father. The early romance of marriage, baby and home making soon falls into a humiliating hell of poverty and guilt. His only hero is his older brother Brendan who, unbeknownst to Eddie, has already succumbed to the temptations of the White Horse. The play mirrors a society at an advanced stage of moral decay and spiritual emptiness, a society of overpowering and disenchanted dreams.
