A unique and powerful theatrical experience based on the story of a Ugandan child soldier, combining verbatim theatre with documentary footage. Uganda, 1996: Bua Lydia is in her dormitory at school when she hears a knock at the door. She knows immediately that her childhood is coming to an end, and that she is to be taken by the rebels to the bush to be a child soldier. She is 14 years old. London, 2008: Director Libby Penn receives the Deutsche Bank Pyramid Award and sets off for Uganda to make a documentary on child soldiers.
