This new play with songs will be adapted and directed by JMK Award winner Alex Brown (The Island, Young Vic). With a cast of 10, including 3 actor musicians, this fascinating plot will be adapted for the stage. Opera will collide with gypsy punk to create an explosive live performance with a cast of 18-25 year olds who audition to be part of the Arcola Academy, exclusively through IdeasTap. Details

On Christmas Eve 1800, a bomb exploded in a horse and cart on Rue St Nicaise in Paris, killing several innocent civilians - one of the first recorded uses of an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) in an act of terrorism. The target, Napoleon, was on his way to the opera to watch the opening of Hadyn's ?Creation', and had passed the so called ?Infernal Machine' seconds before it detonated, narrowly escaping the blast...
