Midnight Folk archiveJohn Masefield's magical adventure is a story of witches, pirates and lost treasure. Kay Harker tries to untangle the mystery of what happened to the lost treasure of Santa Barbara. Was it really stolen by his Great Grandfather Harker or was it captured by pirates? Hot in pursuit of the same mystery are Kay's governess Sylvia Daisy and her coven of witches, helped by the wizard Abner Brown. All Kay has to call upon are his magical friends who come alive at midnight - his cat Nibbins, Bitem the Fox, not to mention a very disreputable rat, a long dead pirate and his sprightly 100 year-old daughter, pictures that come alive, talking rooms, pictures from the past and many others.
