Men and Women archiveAn interesting mix of three poignant plays followed by an entertaining comedy. Countdown by Alan Ayckbourn looks at how feelings and emotions change in a long-term relationship. In Norma, by Alun Owen, the lady of the title lands a rather large surprise on her unsuspecting lover, and the couple who should be celebrating their Silver Wedding, by John Bowen, discover something about their relationship they really should have known all along! The stories are poignant and funny by turns and illustrate emotions familiar, probably, to all of us. The flagship piece of the evening will be David Tristram's comedy The Extraordinary Revelations of Orca the Goldfish in which a couple each live out their intimate - and sometimes decidedly adult - fantasies, discovering along the way some things they never knew about each other.
