Matthew Miller has lived all his life in Exeter. On the eve of his granddaughter s wedding in the Church of St Mary Steps, recently widowed Matthew announces he cannot attend - he and his beloved wife Lois were married in the same church almost 50 years ago and the memories are too painful.
