The cafe that never sleeps is the only refuge at midnight in a backwater Sicilian town. A customer muses on everything : love, life and the pleasures of the imagination to gift wrapping, waiting rooms and the virtues of furniture. The dark lady in the distance sparks a chain that lead to the play's devastating conclusion.
