Lost Nation archiveA captivating and challenging account of poverty in the UK told from the point of view of a lost nation often left unheard. Set in the streets and buildings within the London Borough of Brent, this site-specific drama is made up of a 40-minute specially commissioned documentary followed by 1 of 6 solo verbatim theatre pieces. Featuring Academy Award winning former actress Glenda Jackson MP, the documentary reveals the challenges many people living in Brent are facing, whilst the intimate theatre pieces bring the realism of the individual to the forefront. Spread over 6 days, each day a different actor tells a different true story in a different location in Brent. Beginning from the moment the ticket is brought, the audience is taken on a journey; provided with the location of the performance, insights into the character and instructions for engaging with The Poverty Project online. As part of the overall The Poverty Project documentary, the Lost Nation will be filmed and broadcast online, placing the audience as not only a spectator but also as integral to the live film shoot.
