Lion in the Streets archiveThis tour-de-force by Canadian writer Judith Thompson is a hard-hitting and contemporary drama pulling no punches. 1990s suburban angst - rape, telephone sex, dying from cancer, falling in and out of love, the dangers of eating sugar - are all part of a funny, powerful and demanding play which is a cross between 'Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf' and 'Abigail's Party'. A truly modern voice, Thompson's earlier work 'I Am Yours', was performed at the Royal Court Theatre in 1998.
