In the 1890s La Goulue, the notorious young dancer, was the star attraction at the newly opened Moulin Rouge. She reigned supreme for five years as a Queen of Montmartre, even the Prince of Wales paid visits to Paris to meet 'this force of nature'. Thirty years later she was a vagrant, selling peanuts outside the very place where she had known such fame. What happened?
