Set in India in the early 1940's, Kahani Sapnon Ki (Our Dream Story tells the inspiring story of three young people determined to follow their dreams. Parvati; wants to become a respected story teller, Pavan yearns to be a pilot and Pushpa seems born to be a dancer. The Anglo influenced girls enrol at the Hirambi Dance Academy, where Pavan works as Mr Fix it; "Give me a piece of string, a cog and a screw and I'll fix anything mechanical". The girls arrive to discover a rundown school owned by a fading 1920's Hollywood star and the place filled with girls from the street eagerly working their way through training; "we are here to be part of History, not just history". With these words they embark on an exhilarating journey through show business. Unaware at first of the approaching storm reality strikes when Singapore falls and the Japanese threaten Eastern India.
