Details
A haunting opening scene finds an old man and a stranger, nervously watching a family inside a house. The calm and grace within is soon broken by the news they bring. Written in 1894,
Interior was one of Belgian poet and dramatist Maeterlinck's earliest plays and is dominated by a mystical tone and brooding atmosphere. Maeterlinck was a leader of the French Symbolist movement. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1911.
