I Will Bear Witness archiveBased on the Diaries of Victor Klemperer. Victor Klemperer, a German Jew spent 12 years of Nazi rule in Dresden, keeping secret diaries. The play covers the period of his life from 1933 to 1945 and deals principally with the daily humiliations of life under the Nazis and the country's quickening descent into horror and barbarity.
