Greek archiveBerkoff's radical adaptation of Sophocles' Oedipus Rex is one of the most invigorating plays of recent decades. Set in a violent and decaying London where mindless violence and political chaos soak its inhabitants with gore, it delights in grotesque characters and the richness of the English language. Yet somehow through all the brutality and mayhem, Eddy, our hero, warned of his fantastic fate, falls in love. Contains very strong language.
