Details
A playful piece of political theatre, inspired by the looming 2012 Olympic Games. In London, Indonesia, New York, Brazil and Nigeria, young people are looking forward to, preparing for and dreaming about 2012. The stars of international sport are their role models: what they wear and how they behave are massively important. Fulfilling dreams seems easier for those living in the West. In the 'Developing World' too much of life is still a basic struggle for survival. The London Olympics promise an ideal of international interconnection. Is this truly any more than marketing? Whose life is expended, wasted or diminished in the race to win? Created by artists from Nigeria, the US and the UK, God is a DJ fuses music, text, visuals and movement to tell a powerful tale of people betrayed by their dreams.
