In 'Getting the Picture', the year is 1845 and in these early days of photography, former US President Andrew Jackson is having his picture taken by a celebrated photographer from New York. But from Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland comes a young woman who challenges the ex-president to support a movement to break the union with Britain. Jackson, having already driven the British out of America, is inspired by her influences and by memories of his own heroic past. The chance to help solve Ulster's troubles proves a better prospect for posterity than a photograph of a tired old general.
