For One Night Only is a comedy about two West Africans who come to England in pursuit of their dreams. Both men want to become great entertainers, known throughout the world. Having arrived at Gatwick airport, the men join together to become 'The Spinning Tops'. Their route to fame and stardom is to be found on the gold paved streets of Covent Garden. The trouble is they can't find it! Setting out on their intrepid journey our two aspiring celebrities manage to find themselves in all parts of South East England: Didcot, apple farming, Dover, to scrub the cliffs clean white, Crawley, to entertain the children, Milton Keynes, to challenge the concrete cow. But where in Covent Garden? A comedy of aspirations - the desire for a better life is what makes us human. A mix of traditional African storytelling, music and dance, mixed with the best of new British theatre.
