Innocent Erindira is the story of a twelve-year-old girl whose grandmother sells her into prostitution in order to make money. Meanwhile, Erendira falls in love. Erindira draws parallels between Marquez's 'magical realism' and the folk tales and myths of Rajastahan, which also have the strange quality and sensuality that is seen in Marquez's work.
