Details
This is a one-act play that is faithful to a true story, written as a memoir for her daughter by Flora Jewsbury, not long before her death in 1993 at the age of 89, about her early life in North Manchester around the time of just before and during the First World War. Flora gave the memoir to her daughter, with instructions for it not to be opened until after her death, containing a moving account of a difficult childhood and adolescence under very different social conditions to those of today
