Details
Four young Eritrean refugees find themselves in Calais having travelled through the desert and across borders. They have endured one traumatic experience after another, detention centres, beatings, freezing temperatures and even avoided drowning. Now, in Calais, they hope to make it across the English Channel to a new life where their dreams await them. Tariq and Ahmed are Muslim and dream of walking on rich English soil. Birham, a Christian, dreams of setting up his own Ministry and Faven, a young Muslim woman, wants to open her own cafe. Against the backdrop of Calais and the constant threat of the police, the play aims to raise awareness of the plight of migrants in Calais, exploring what drives people to make perilous journeys and how much they would risk to reach their goals.
