By the Waters of Denbigh archiveIt is high summer in 1832. Evan Pierce has come back to Plas Meifod, the family home at Henllan near Denbigh, as a newly qualified doctor, and at first all seems well. Farmers are farming, preachers are preaching, thieves are thieving. But the deadly cholera virus is about to strike at the heart of the community, poised to separate lovers, devastate families and kill indiscriminately. The play follows Evan and a host of other characters as their lives become more and more enmeshed and ravaged by the effects of the epidemic.
