Breathing Space: After the Fact/Skyscraping archiveAfter the Fact: After the sudden death of her brother, Jen refuses to mourn, avoids all her 'good' friends and pals up with the school weirdo, David. Stifled and smothered by their mothers, the odd couple take solace in crafty fags behind the bike shed. This play is about how much life we invest in death, the evils of a chicken sandwich and the unknown zone of coming of age. It is about how we reconcile our upbringing with what we are becoming. Skyscraping : Paul hasn't been seen out of his room for years, his existence confirmed now and and then by the odd empty crisp packet. Living in a soon to be demolished tower block with his parents, who have to try and extract him, this play charts in flashbacks the journey that took him into the prison of his own making. It is about people growing up and buildings coming down.
