Is it possible to fall in love with someone if you don't know their gender? Boy Stroke Girl is an unconventional love story in which Peter, a previously heterosexual young man faces a challenge to his identity when he develops a passion for the sexually ambiguous 'Blue'. Their relationship provokes prejudice and hostility from friends and family in a tale of sexual liberation, shattered taboos and overturned conventions. The play poses a number of questions: To what extent are we forced to conform to narrow stereotypes, to label and pigeon-hole ourselves and others according to accepted categories? In so doing do we suppress and compromise our true nature? And is the flip side of this straight jacket of conformity a tendency to hate and fear all those who through choice or inclination, stand outside society's norms?
